KAMP MUSIC COVID SAFETY PLAN SUMMER CAMPS 2022
Vaccinations

For Staff:  As per the Governor’s mandate that all educators be fully vaccinated, KAMP requires all teachers and counselors to provide proof of vaccination as a condition of employment.

For campers:  We encourage all campers to be fully vaccinated but it is not a condition of coming to camp.

Masks
All campers, staff, parents, visitors to camp must wear a mask at all times except when eating/drinking or in the swimming pool on camp swim days.

**NO CLOTH MASKS WILL BE ALLOWED.

**Double masking will be required if the COVID rate of infection in King County is registered as high via the Health Dept.  measuring tools.

Handwashing Station

KAMP will provide a handwashing station near the camp location for use by our students and members of the general public who use the park where the camps are held.

Covid incidence protocol:
If a camper or staff member tests positive for COVID, that camper or staff member must remain away from the camp for 7 days and must provide proof of a negative covid test before returning to camp.
The Director will alert all families whose children are attending that week of camp that an infection has occurred.
All staff members who were working at the time of the infection must get a covid test as well.

Social Distancing
Campers, staff members and parents attending any performances of the camp agree to practice CDC recommended social distancing rules.  We will be outside where infection risk is substantially lower but we will still ask students to maintain appropriate social distance between them.

Meals will be eaten in small groups, with children socially distanced.
Snacks will be eaten in the same manner.

All food and drink consumption will occur OUTSIDE if the campers are in an enclosed area (like the pavilion).  No eating or drinking in the pavilion classroom area.

Visitors to the camp, including parents
No visitors to the camp will be allowed other than parents wishing to participate in the camp final performance program on the Friday of each camp week.  Parents must come only for that 30 minutes, must remain in the parent area and not socialize with the campers.  They must comply with all parts of this safety plan while at the camp.

My daughter went to a summer camp for the first time this year. I’m glad that her first ever experience was with KAMP, but it also sets a high bar for all the camps to come. Every time I would pick her up from a day at camp, her eyes would be glowing, and she wouldn’t be able to stop talking about how much fun she had and how much she learned.-- Indira, Kirkland

Though my kids are fortunate enough to participate in a huge number of different activities and summer camps, KAMP is consistently in their list of top camps – they have both gotten a chance to perform in a low-stakes environment that makes them feel comfortable, and they enjoy the truly Kirkland-specific interactions like taking a public bus (!) to Peter Kirk Pool (!) several times a week during summer camp-- Tali, Kirkland

I first stumbled across KAMP five years ago when I was looking for summer camps near Google. At that time, KAMP was located in a small, bland strip of nondescript businesses on 6th street next to the Google campus. I wasn't expecting much, but will never forget how I was instantly transformed into a world of music and theater upon walking into KAMP and meeting Sue. Fast forward, my boys are now 11 and 14 and we are still a loyal KAMP family. From summer rock band and theater camps, to private piano lessons to complimentary rock band lessons to help the kids get out of the house and feel a sense of normalcy during the pandemic, KAMP has changed our lives and helped my boys feel a sense of belonging, pride and teamwork. The KAMP staff truly care about their students and my teenage son looks to the teaching staff (especially Josh) as a role model.-- Debbie, Kirkland
